The 277-room 11-story boutique hotel was opened in December 2015 and designed with sophistication and imagination by The Stonehill Taylor. The team used the classic bones of the original hotel as the basis upon which they built a new personality. Design elements also include Arizona’s Five C’s — copper, cotton, citrus, cattle and climate in their use of materials throughout. The overarching design concept was “refined revelry”: remixing classic luxury. Classic columns and marble flooring are combined with contemporary flair and fun. The Southwest is present using the state’s colors and vivid landscape with displays of copper elements and pops of turquoise throughout the property.
The result is an elegant urban retreat that brings a new attitude and distinction, in a fun, relaxing place to stay.
The lobby welcomes guests to an adult playground. Contemporary sofas, neon signs and a mirrored bicycle adorn the space. Behind the front desk area is a music playroom, where you can spin old records.
The rooms are spacious with king size or double beds, a sofa to work on or to kick back, relax and watch the flat screen television.
The cow skull light fixtures are definitely an original design idea.
Bathrooms feature a mural of a shark on the wall, which reflects in the mirror as if a 3-D sculpture were in the room.
This bold and inspired balance of authenticity and cutting-edge style extends into the food, art, and entertainment scene of the Camby. The hotel’s Artizen Kitchen & Bar is the Biltmore neighborhood’s gathering place. Serving crafted American cuisine sourced from the area’s finest local producers and seasonal regional ingredients, the restaurant brings innovative dining to the table.
